Gravitas was an award-winning restaurant operated by renowned chef and native Houstonian, Scott Tycer. Chef Tycer wanted a website that would enable their restaurant to communicate with existing clientele while simultaneously reaching out to new audiences.
After nearly seven years, Chef Scott Tycer closed Gravitas to focus his attention on Kraftsmen, his artisan bakery and café. The space is now home to the awarding-winning restaurant The Pass & Provisions.
SKYLINE MOVEMENT delivered a visually engaging custom website which was inspired by the decor and structural elements of the historic building where Gravitas resided.
Gravitas had an existing website but it was primarily Flash based, difficult to navigate, had poor usability and lacked search engine optimization. Gravitas had no way to capture voluntary e-mail submissions and was not actively engaged in any e-mail marketing initiatives.
SM consulted Gravitas on all aspects of interactive marketing and provided them with comprehensive, creative solutions that have greatly exceeded all expectations. SM also consulted Gravitas on their second Groupon feature, which resulted in a 60% increase in units sold and a 225% increase in revenue generated.
SM redesigned Gravitas’ corporate collateral that included personalized business cards, general branding cards, digital letterhead and event flyers.
SM conducted multiple photo shoots to capture high-quality images of the food, along with the restaurant's interior and exterior.
SM enhanced several photos for different marketing initiatives. In conjunction with the launch of their new website and the first e-mail to subscribers, SM created an engaging image for 4th of July, 2010. This resulted in their best 4th of July since they opened in 2004.
SM produced a video to promote their 2nd Groupon feature. The video followed Chef Scott Tycer through the 3-course, prix fixe menu written for Groupon.
Gravitas gave SM full creative control over the design, development, content, features and functionalities of their new website. What resulted was a Gold ADDY® award-winning website that was also named the Best Restaurant Website in Houston by the Houston Press.
SM created a design that was inspired by the physical location. The red brick walls and dark wood balanced nicely with the lighter text and orange hyperlinks.
SM developed the new website to have broad browser compatibility. The new website was optimized to maintain its visual appeal and usability across multiple devices including Apple iPhones and iPads.
SM designed, developed and deployed an SEO strategy to organically reach a wide audience that was searching for the products and services Gravitas offered. The Gravitas website consistently remained at the top of organic search engine results for broad restaurant searches resulting in thousands of new visitors.
SM integrated active links to Gravitas’ Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn profiles on every page of the new website. We also incorporated an OpenTable link for online reservations.
SM incorporated an e-mail database solution that enabled visitors to voluntarily submit their e-mail address and receive updates about events and special offers. We experienced consistent e-mail submissions and implemented effective marketing campaign that generated positive results.
